I've been busy today adding clothes from the Nalan Collection to the shop. Nalan is the creation of Laura Speake whose passion is to make a real difference to the environment, however modest at the start. She
has created an ethically driven, organic business that will contribute
to a sustainable world; the kind of which we wish our children to
inherit.
This does not mean dressing in sackcloth - far from it! The Nalan
Collection range of clothing stands for high quality, funky, unique
designs. The production of these garments have a small ecological
impact and a positive influence on all the people involved in the
process.
All supplies are ethically traded, free
of sweat-shop abuses and are carefully designed to have a low
environmental impact. This means that when you buy clothes from the
Nalan Collection you will know that you’re helping, in a positive way,
to make the world a better place.

Dandelion Dress with hem detail shown.

Pink pants that make it so easy for little ones learning to dress themselves no buttons or zips to worry about and lots of attention to detail.
I have been thinking today that its not easy being green, purely from a practical viewpoint but it is definitely worth it in terms of the environment and our own health. What am I talking about your probably wondering. Well there is no doubt that environmentally friendly cleaning products don't work as well as the ones loaded with horrible chemicals and its an awful lot easier to throw everything into the tumble drier then keep rushing in and out trying to get clothes dry on an inclement day. Using toxic pest control in the garden is much easier than hoeing and weeding and companion planting.
I could go on, perhaps you think that I am wittering but I think that we need to be honest and admit that sometimes it just isn't easier to do things in a traditional earth friendly way but it has its own rewards. What do you think? As ever I would love to hear your opinion.
